Nestled in the heart of Toulouse’s Bonnefoy district, in a former car garage, the Minifundi artisan roastery passionately selects specialty coffees from micro-producers around the world. Their slow-coffee approach favors traditional methods and small-batch roasting to preserve the complex aromas of each bean. The Minifundi team not only offers exceptional coffees, but also shares its know-how through tasting workshops and barista training.
The company’s founder, Hugo Mateu, entrusted us with redesigning the visual identity of his specialty coffee. We worked around the raw style of the place and its centerpiece, a huge granite block serving as a counter. This identity is subtly inserted into the typographic construction of the logo, the pivotal element of the new graphic territory: all lettering in straight lines, where no rounding exists: so even the roundings are managed in bevels. This identity is carefully applied to the new packs, which are available in several ranges, providing a colorful backdrop to the rocky hues of the site. The monumental outdoor signage was created by Bruno Durand, a Toulouse-based letter painter; the logo stretches over 10 meters, and completes the new visual scheme, which was carefully crafted over several months.
